Auto FAQ

What is window film?

Window Film is a low-cost, high-return energy conservation measure made of micro-thin layers of film combined with high performance coatings that bond to the glass surface.

What is the legal tint limit?

See our page on Minnesota’s legal tint limit.

Does the film go on the outside or the inside?

Inside, to protect it from the weather. This is true for commercial and residential installations as well.

What warranty do I get?

We offer a lifetime manufacture warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading and delaminating, as well as a lifetime warranty on the installation workmanship as long as you retain ownership of the vehicle.

Will the film bubble or peel?

No, it should not. If you do experience any bubbling, pealing or delaminating, bring it back and we’ll fix it free of charge.

Can I roll my windows down right away?

No. We tell people to allow the film to cure for 3-5 days before lowering the windows, although the first 24 hours are the most critical. Running the air in your car and parking in the sun will help the film dry out faster.

How long does the installation take?

Most installations on a complete vehicle take two to three hours. If a job includes removal as well as an installation, it could take closer to three to four hours.

Do you disassemble anything on the vehicle during the installation?

No. The vast majority of vehicles require no disassembling for the installation to take place. On the few vehicles where this is necessarily, we will inform you first.

How should I clean my windows after they are tinted?

We recommend giving windows 30 days for the adhesive to properly bond to the glass before washing them. When cleaning the windows, use a soft cloth with a mild soap and water solution. Avoid using any abrasive pad cleaners, ammonia and industrial-strength glass products. We recommend using Performax Glass Cleaner; we keep this product in stock for our customers.
